Testimonials

Saarland University, Germany

The department of Language Science and Technology at Saarland University is very proud of its close relationship with Atril.

The collaboration between Saarland University and Atril goes back to the early 2000’s and we are very happy that our students have been able to benefit very early from the academic programme with Atril.

Translation technology was always an important aspect of translator’s training at Saarland University, but recently it went “official” by the Master programme Translation Science and Technology which focuses on a sound mix between the art of translation and the usage of modern technologies for translators.

In this context we are more than pleased to have DéjàVu included in our CAT tools classes, providing for both lecturers and students the possibility to work with DéjàVu not only in our labs, but also on their personal computers.

We consider the cooperation with Atril very beneficial for training translators and are looking forward to continue our relationship and to overcome the technological challenges waiting for us in the future together.

“The close and strong relationship between Atril and the University of Leeds Centre for Translation Studies (CTS) goes back to the beginning of the eCoLoRe project in 2002 when our teams collaborated with the other project partners on the design and development of freely-accessible training resources on the topic of language technologies aimed at professional linguists. Since then, every year the CTS students have been gaining experience of real-life translation workflows and how a professional tool such as Déjà Vu X3 Workgroup handles a range of file formats frequently-processed in the localisation industry.

Moreover, since 2014 Atril have also very generously made it possible for our staff and students to work with the Déjà Vu TeamServer, thus adding to our students’ portfolio of relevant project management skills by becoming familiar with working collaboratively, as well as managing online teams and localisation projects.

Working with all the specialists at Atril has always been a flawless experience for the Centre for Translation Studies: thanks to Atril’s team being based on multiple continents, our questions have always been answered promptly and we have always felt that this company always goes the extra mile to ensure that there is no downtime for the software and the users are fully supported. On behalf of my colleagues, as well as students in the CTS, I am very grateful to Atril for their generous and continuous support, and am looking forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”
