I have spent the last three weeks working with Déjà Vu, after 7 years with Trados, and about a year with the TagEditor system (no Word interface), and I feel like I have discovered a whole new world. Déjà Vu just has a whole wealth of functions which are missing from TagEditor, the Data bases are just so much easier to work with, the filter function is fantastic, and the amount of pick-up you get from short entries in your TM makes a substantial difference (even if 50% are completely wrong, the other 50% are right!), not to mention the fact that you can actually see your work as you move on, as opposed to TagEditor where you get roughly 2 TUs displayed at any one time, making sequencing fairly difficult (i.e. you can't see how you translated the header to that list..). Once you have tested Déjà Vu, working with TagEditor is just like popping back to the 19th century! (Juce Evans) |

Atril leaves all other CAT program manufacturers in its smoke with its rapid and efficient customer service and support. Not only it is free, but they're faster than the Jamaican Olympic Sprint Team when it comes to urgent reaction. I recently has a technical problem with Déjà Vu X and no fix and was desperate with just one hour to go before my hand-off. I sent them a mail with the project files attached - it was already 18:00 CET - described my problem, and within an hour they had found a solution and returned the project files fixed and ready to go. I did my final review and delivered just-in-time telling my (very major) client how wonderful Atril are at the same time. Keep it up, compañeros! (Martin Robinshaw) |

There may be many programs, but none has such an excellent support as Déjà Vu has. Thanks a lot for everything. (Marlene Kuppelwieser) |

Personally, after working in Déjà Vu X, the productivity impact is so great, and the freedom of mind so great to focus on the translation, not on the deadline, that I feel whenever I need to go back into Trados, Wordfast, and above all Transit, that it is like a trip into a hellish domain. I have four CAT tools: Trados 7.5, SDLX, Star Transit XV Professional and Déjà Vu X. Among these tools, Déjà Vu is my favourite; first of all it is a user friendly and easy-to-learn tool. There is a Deja Vu group in yahoo groups, I am also a member to other CAT groups too, but it seems to me that most of the Déjà Vu users have tested other CAT tools and then decided to use Déjà Vu. It is a superior program, why don't you try it for 30 days (demo version with full features available). You may translate Trados files with Deja Vu, become a member of Déjà Vu group and you will get any information on translating Trados files with Deja Vu. (Selcuk Akyuz) |

"... Sitting by my swimming pool on the Gulf of Mexico, thanks to Déjà Vu!" This is an authentic comment from a user who shall remain unnamed, lest the tax collector be lurking in the shrubbery. |

Everything works like clockwork. Apart from the obvious advantages of Déjà Vu, it is time consuming to open microdocuments and indexes in Interleaf and so much quicker to translate them in Déjà Vu than in Interleaf. I am absolutely delighted. (Simon Alain Midoux) |

I've been using at least five translation memory tools and am convinced that Déjà Vu's approach is the best of all. If a translator were to use only one TM tool, it should be Déjà Vu! This is definitely the only tool that is improving every month. As an agency manager I only hope that one day all our translators will use Déjà Vu to gain consistency. Keep up the good work! I really must say that I find highly impressive not only the program itself, but also the way in which you seem to take every wish and suggestion from DejaVu users seriously. (Herman Kappen) |

We have just finished a large assignment with the help of your program. It was obvious that this assignment would have been much more of a nightmare without the help of your already great (and certainly promising) program. I want to congratulate you on the program you have written and also the eagerness you have shown to keep improving it, often within hours of some reaction from a user. (Mark Koehorst) |

Déjà Vu is a wonderful tool for translators. I have been using it for several years now, for all my big projects. With its latest version, Déjà Vu is [almost ;-)] perfect. I prefer it to Trados Workbench. BTW, it now can import Trados files! (Nathalie Seigneuret. Message posted to the sci.lang.translation newsgroup.) |
